Pathway Programme

Preparing children early with life skills, confidence, and resilience

At Aarons Children’s Residential Care, we believe the journey to adulthood starts well before age sixteen. Our Pathway Programme helps children build life skills, confidence, and resilience early on. We take a proactive, child-centred approach so children are prepared emotionally and practically for adulthood.

Pathway

Aarons Pathway House

Aarons Pathway House offers a safe and structured home where children nearing sixteen begin to learn key independence skills. They engage in daily tasks like cooking, self-care, and managing routines, all with therapeutic support. The aim is to build emotional and practical readiness for the future at a pace that suits each child.

Pathway Programme

Education, Training, and Employment

We prioritise education as a route to independence and opportunity. Children are supported in formal or alternative education, and we help re-engage those who’ve missed schooling. As they grow older, we explore future pathways through college visits, training programmes, and real-world learning experiences.

More Information

Children’s physical, emotional, and mental health are consistently supported and reviewed. We promote healthy routines and teach children to care for themselves and seek help when needed. Access to health services is seamless and child-friendly.

Each child has a personalised Health Care Plan that covers medical needs, immunisations, and regular reviews. Children are guided to take increasing responsibility for their health, appointments, and medications. Plans evolve as the child’s needs and understanding grow.

We support safe and meaningful contact with family, siblings, and trusted adults. Children also build friendships and community connections that strengthen their identity and well-being. Staff help them develop emotional skills for forming and maintaining healthy relationships.

Children are taught about money through hands-on, age-appropriate activities. They learn the value of saving, budgeting, and making good financial choices. As they mature, we support real-life practice and planning for financial independence after sixteen.
